The Ultimate Test

Dear Readers,

Phew! Renee and I passed! We graduated and are a team. Renee is now officially my dog. I hope to have her as a guide for at least eight years.

Renee and I went to my favorite place in the world before graduation. We conquered NYC. I was excited to visit this favorite place. I love the walkable grid patterned streets, the incredible buildings, the hustle and bustle, and the feeling of freedom. Sometimes freedom can come with fear. Can I figure out where I want to go? Am I safe? To be honest, my independent nature didn't ask any of these questions in the city. I have grown to be fully confident in my and Renee's abilities to travel.

Renee was fabulous. She guided in very congested areas of the city with tight walkways between people, signs, and other sidewalk obstacles. NYC was an important piece of my training. I truly believed that if we could handle NYC, nothing could stop us in the future.

I am so proud of Renee and the work we have done. It's time to start new adventures together! We are now heading to Seattle for an interview that I have there for law school. We've only been home one week. I'm sure this is very confusing for her, but she's doing very well.

I promised to blog about training as someone with low vision. I definitely want to do that still, but I will catch you up on our other adventures first. Stay tuned!

Sincerely,
Sara
